This Place Feels a Lot Like Home

“This Place Feels A Lot Like Home” is a series of new works by Ariel Turgeman-Fabrizio. The triptych of images celebrates a multitude of values important to Judaism including family, culture and unity.

The images show myself, my brother and my sister. Each photograph symbolises a time when I was at the Dead Sea. Yam Ha’melech (Dead Sea) is a culturally significant location within Judaism.

My first vivid memory of the place was when I was 9, the next when I was 13 and celebrated my Barmitzvah. This year I returned to the Dead sea for the first time in 10 years. The work celebrates the return to a long since forgotten home, and the sense of belonging that comes with it.
